The Website has been rebuilt from the ground up and tested to check that all the functions work. However like car manufacturers who also test their cars to breaking point to eliminate any faults and then launch them only to find out that within days they are getting reports of problems that they never had experienced, we guess this could well happen to us.

News Items

To keep the website looking fresh and interesting please send in lots of news items of things that happen in your area or region. If you also have photos to accompany them so much the better.

Any forthcoming events will also be welcome for our diary, please ensure that they come with as much detail as possible - times, dates, and places

Lots of people now use Sat Nav  so it is always useful to include the postcode as it makes finding the venue so much easier.

If you have any prior information about donkeys appearing in TV programmes etc please send that information also.

Photographs

Please send in lots of photographs of any donkey events that you have attended no matter how large or small.

It would be helpful if the photos were a file size of approx 1mb so that they will look good in the galleries. If they are larger not to worry I can reduce them in size for the website. It is better that they are too large than too small

When you send in the photos please say where they are taken and who is in the picture as it is more interesting for the viewer.

If the photos are of children please ensure that you have the permission of their parents to display them on the website.

Donkeys for Sale

We shall continue to operate our For Sale page for donkeys but there will be some slight changes made.

We will withdrawing the facility to place your own advert directly into the web site because we feel it does not offer you the best option when selling your donkey.

You will have to e-mail the wording of your advert to the webmaster along with the photos of your donkey.

Photos is the important word because in the new website we will be able to display up to six images of your donkey in the advert should you wish to. We feel that this improvement to our sales page will be beneficial to both the vendor and the buyer alike.

Forums

We shall be re launching the Forums but with far fewer categories because we were criticised for having too many in the past.

If there is a demand for some other topic we will of course cater for it but to start with keeping it simple is the maxim to see how it develops

As this is a brand new site I am afraid that you will have to re register

Calendar

Shows and events are listed on the calendar. Click on a name and a panel will open giving details of the event.

Most of the shows will have websites and e-mail addresses shown on them, click on either of these and they will become active enabling you to make direct contact with the show.

Should you wish to have a show or donkey related event displayed on the calendar send details with as much information as possible.

i.e. dates, places, contact phone numbers, e-mail and website addresses

Shop

Sadly there has been no response to our advert for the position of Shop Manager so for the present time the number of items for sale on the website will have to  be reduced dramatically.

What will be available will be items such as DBS sweatshirts, Tee Shirts and Fleeces.

There will also be a range of Donkey Books which we will hope to add to as new titles become available.

You will of course be able to join the Society or renew your subscription on line

Information Sheets/Galleries

The information Sheets are on Word Documents and have been set so that they can be opened on Office 2003 originally they were on Office 2007 and this created difficulty with members who were running on the earlier versions .If you don’t have Microsoft Office on your PC I am assured that they can be opened in Microsoft Works.
Other downloads are created on Adobe PDF files so make sure that you are running on the latest version to avoid any problems. This is free software for reading PDF  files  and it is a simple action to keep it up dated.

Galleries.

The earlier Galleries were created on Flash files and those of you with I Pad or Apple Mac computers will not be able to open them. The newer files are all on a format that can be accessed by the Apple products. The older galleries will be updated to the same format over the next few weeks.
